  1. STUDENT SERVICES / CLINIC RECEPTION

The Victoria campus of the West Coast College of Massage Therapy (WCCMT) is looking for a dynamic individual to fill the multi-faceted role of Student Services with a supporting role in running the Student Intern Clinic.  The WCCMT Victoria campus is a tight-knit community of health care professionals and dedicated administrators educating students for the growing profession of massage therapy.  In this role, the appropriate individual will be able to handle a variety of tasks (simple to complex) and situations (calm to demanding) with competence, tact, and humor.

Position Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Maintaining Student files including ensuring the integrity of student information is secure
  • Distributing and collection of student contracts
  • Support students and faculty with various issues from technology to connecting with appropriate senior administrators
  • Submit confirmation of enrollment with BC Student Aid and assist students with government student loan questions.
  • Print, mark, and archive course exams, quizzes, and assignments and generate marking sheets when required
  • Assist senior administrators with typing up of class and clinic schedules
  • Track use of facilities including lockers and technical equipment
  • Track and order various office supplies as needed
  • Inventory and track student library texts
  • Manage archival of course materials and exams; archived box storage and destruction of student files
  • Answer questions via phone, email, and in person from the public, students, and instructors and refer to appropriate senior administrator when necessary
  • Manage student printing funds
  • Assist clinic reception with shift scheduling, booking and checking in patients, and filing
  • Cover front reception duties in case of illness
  • Use established class lists to generate email lists and marking sheets

Must be proficient in:

  • Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel
  • Learning and utilizing databases and information management systems
  • Multi-line phone system

This is a full time position at 40 hours per week, hours of work will be 8:00am – 5:00pm.

2. TEACHING ASSISTANTS.
Teaching Assistants must be registered massage therapists with three (3) or more years experience, in good standing with the CMTBC, and hold an up-to-date first aid & CPR certificate. Applicants must have a vested interest in the development of future RMTs and an interest in working in a collaborative team environment.

Hiring Manager: Julie Taggart

Hours: variable

 Job Description:

Assist the primary instructor in all aspects of curriculum presentation in the classroom including practical demonstration, tutorial assistance, attendance records, audio-visual technical assistance and general duties that may arise in the classroom, as directed by the primary instructor for the smooth operation and organization of classes.

Required Qualifications:

  • Registered Massage Therapist in good standing with the CMTBC
  • 2500 hours or a minimum of 2 years working as an RMT

3. CLINIC/OUTREACH SUPERVISORS

 Job Description:

Assist and support students in applying their theoretical knowledge to the practice of massage therapy and work towards integration of the educational program as a whole. Perform direct student supervision including tutorial instruction, treatment demonstration, student evaluation and feedback, both on-site and outreach clinical settings, as set out in the practicum instruction schedule.

Required Qualifications:

  • Registered Massage Therapist in good standing with the CMTBC
  • 2500 hours or a minimum of 2 years working as an RMT
