Reports to: Spa Director/Manager
Position Summary: Esthetician provides services and treatments that meet the standards set out by Pure Spa. They must possess a thorough knowledge of the skin, have excellent facial massage and skin extraction techniques, possess excellent cleanliness and sanitation skills and be willing to train in our spa’s specific treatment offerings. The Esthetician must present a professional appearance at all times that reflects the image of the Pure Spa brand.
Essential Job Functions:
Client/Patient Care
Provide consistent professional facial and body treatments in accordance with spa protocols and accepted certification practices.
Be flexible with your schedule, supporting the needs of the spa.
Have complete knowledge and understanding of all services and products while educating and training guests in these areas.
Actively promote home care programs, meeting minimum retail sales goals.
Contact existing patients through email, telephone or mail-out to inform them of specials or new services provided or a customer care contact.
Inform client on available products or treatments that can assist with the outcome of their treatment plan.
Determine the course of action should there be a variance in standard procedure or policy or patient outcome.
Provide client teachings according to policies.
Communicate to management any and all occurrences involving staff or guests in the spa that require attention.
Seek guidance when a therapist feels uncomfortable and uncertain re. a treatment.
Return patients’ calls for information and/or concerns in a timely manner. (min 12 hours)
Maintain the confidentiality of all client information both while on and off duty.
Actively promote the spa, treatments, services, sessions and retail, as well as programs, promotions and/or discounts available.
Handle guests’ questions and concerns professionally and courteously.
Provide accurate, appropriate and immediate responses to all requests by guests, ensuring complete guest satisfaction.
Properly care for equipment and use proper amounts of product to assist with cost controls.
Administration
Be on time for your shift, prompt with each appointment and perform services within the appropriate time allotted for the service.
Complete charting and documentation, possibly including picture taking of pre and post treatment procedures.
Schedule client appointments, and ensures no double bookings
Answer the telephone in a polite and professional manner.
Receive and process payments from clients for products and services, as needed.
Greet and welcome clients and guide them on a tour of the facility. Show client to the change room. Explain the directions for the rest of the day.
Offer client refreshment and ask them to complete the appropriate forms.
Notify appropriate therapist that the appointment has arrived.
Regularly attend, participate in and support training and staff meetings for the spa.
Assist in all areas of spa operation as requested by management.
Minimum Qualifications
Education, Experience and Training
Aesthetics Diploma.
IPL training and asset.
Makeup diploma an asset.
Cash handling experience.
Knowledge & Skills
Basic administration skills
Knowledge of Microsoft office and electronic client booking procedures (Insight).
Critical thinking skills.
Problem solving skills.
