Job Description

WCCMT New Westminster is recruiting primary instructors for the upcoming term which runs from September 01 to December 14, 2024.  We offer a collaborative working environment, flexible schedule, and competitive compensation.

Systemics 2 – This course is 10 weeks in length and covers the topics of Women’s health (pregnancy, high risk pregnancy, labour and delivery) along with oncology and cardiovascular disorders.

Case Presentations – This course is the final phase of the students case study, in which they present their case study research project to their classmates.  It is 6 sessions in length.

Role To provide instruction to students in the College’s Competency Based Mastery Level RMT Program

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide instruction in your subject area according to the Guidelines for Foundational Knowledge in Massage Therapy Educational Programs and the Inter-Jurisdictional Practice Competencies and Performance Indicators for Massage Therapists at Entry-to-Practice.
  • Prepare class material including but not limited to, lesson plans, notes, handouts, tests, quizzes, exams and other materials as required for successful instruction of the class.
  • Post your availability for student consultation. Please schedule at least 1 consistent office hour per week to meet with students and assist them with concerns or questions.
  • Grade all quizzes and written exams & submit grades on time.
  • Meet with students who may wish to challenge or question their grade in your course.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • RMT in good standing with the CMTBC
  • 2500 hours related clinical experience

 Assets

  • Instructional experience is an asset
  • Strong communication and public speaking skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • MS Office knowledge including Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
