Attendance

The Clinical Practicum Coordinator, in conjunction with the student, will determine the day on which the student will be scheduled. Once assigned, this weekly shift becomes a commitment made by the student to their patients, and to CCMH.

Prior to beginning the practicum in each term, students will be given the opportunity to request the evening(s) on which they would prefer to participate in Relaxation Focused Clinic (Term 2), Treatment Focused Clinic (Term 3 & 4) & a variety of Community Clinics (Term 3 & 4). The Clinical Practicum Coordinator will attempt to accommodate the request however, this is not always possible. Students will be assigned and notified of their weekly shifts when the schedule is complete.

You must notify any absence to the Clinical Practicum Coordinator before 11:00am of that day. Replacement shifts must be complete within a two-week period. If you do not report your absence prior to 11:00am you will still be required to complete a replacement shift within a two-week period, but you will also be placed on Academic Probation.

In all cases it is your responsibility to make every effort to secure a shift change with another student to cover your absence and advise the Clinical Practicum Coordinator of your replacement. If you are missing clinic for any reason other than illness or personal emergency, you must secure another student to cover your absence.
