The massage therapy program builds a strong understanding of the human body and how to assess, treat, and rehabilitate using massage therapy through 2200 hours competency based instruction in both lecture and practice-based courses in Human Sciences, Clinical Sciences, and Professional Practice; including over 300 hours of practical clinical training.
Outstanding Professional Preparation
Our graduates are fully prepared for certification and have attained the knowledge, skill and ability necessary to be successful in medical and healthcare facilities, sports and wellness centres, spas, resorts, clinics and self-employment.
We put learning into practice through over 1000 hours of practical training and 330 hours of clinical experience in our student intern clinic and community clinics.
Small Class Sizes
Our small class sizes allow for personal attention and easy access to educational resources. We have Massage Therapists, chiropractors, and a Naturopathic Doctor on staff each working here part time and in their own clinics.
CCMH hand picks our faculty with experienced massage therapists and other health professionals, who willingly pass on their dedication and knowledge to our students.
High Provincial Test Results
The best test of our program is the success our students have in completing provincial examinations. CCMH graduates are fully prepared to succeed at the certification examinations in regulated provinces.
CCMH has a national footprint, with campuses in Nova Scotia, Ontario and our sister school the West Coast College of Massage Therapy in British Columbia.
Our diploma is recognized by the Massage Therapists' Association of Nova Scotia (MTANS), the Massage Therapists and Wholistic Practitioners' Association of the Maritimes (MTWPAM), and other provincial associations across Canada. Our College is registered with the Nova Scotia Department of Labour and Advanced Education's Private Career Colleges Division. As of April 1, 2009 graduates who have passed regulated exams from legislated provinces are now able to work coast to coast, including BC, without upgrading.
CCMH provides our students with three different starting options each year enabling you to commence your new career at a time best suited for you; Spring and Fall (onsite programs) and May (Online-Onsite Blended program).
Successful Career Placement
CCMH's Jobs Board and job fairs, assist our students and graduates in contacting potential employers and lists available practice locations. We also provide practical information on job search techniques and self employment. For those interested in working at spas, we have global relationships with well known resorts.
