Why become a Massage Therapist?

Why become a Massage Therapist?

Students of all ages attend CCMH to pursue their dream career of becoming a Massage Therapist. Some students know right out of high school, and others discover their interest in Massage Therapy later in life or as a second career.

Our students are passionate about their studies and we’re dedicated to helping them succeed. They’ve explained what inspired and drove them to become the Massage Therapists they are today – and perhaps it’ll spark a passion in you!

Ilona Valitskaya, originally from Russia, discovered she wanted to be an Massage Therapist while working as a gymnastics coach. After speaking to an RMT who treated athletes during a competition and she decided Massage Therapy was right for her. “I’ve always had passion in health, always knew that I had to treat people and see how people are healing with my hands,” said Ilona. Her interest in athletics, health and healing were a perfect match for a career as an Massage Therapist!

Like many, Jaime Doig struggled with finding her dream career. All she knew was that she loved sports and had a passion for helping others. Fortunately, Massage Therapy was the best of both worlds. After doing some research, she decided that her next steps would be enrolling at CCMH.

For others, Massage Therapy is another chance at a career change. Justin Hui was in need of new direction in his life when he suddenly came across Massage Therapy. “I saw it as an opportunity to exercise technical skills I acquired fixing medical equipment while exploring the more clinical aspect of healthcare,” said Justin. Our curriculum consists of getting familiar with not only the technical terminology of the body, but also getting familiar with the equipment within our student clinic.

Working as a Massage Therapist also has many perks! Alexandra Denvir figured out the benefits when she discovered her passion for it. The flexibility to travel and the freedom that comes with it was something she loved. “You are essentially your own boss and the sky’s the limit in terms of success,” she says.

Our students come from many different backgrounds and all have different stories that led them to the dream career they have today. Here at CCMH, we do our best to support each and every one of them and their passions.
