WCCMT Clinic

Affordable Massage Therapy provided by Student Intern Therapists

Welcome to the West Coast College of Massage Therapy Student Intern Clinics, where students enrolled in our Massage Therapy program provide treatments as part of their clinical practicum training.

In our state-of-the-art public clinics, treatments are provided by student interns under the supervision of experienced Registered Massage Therapists who are active in clinical practice and dedicated to both patient care and student learning.

When you book a massage with us, you’ll enjoy high-quality care at a significantly reduced cost while supporting the learning journey of our students.

As teaching clinics, our primary purpose is to provide a safe and supportive environment for students to integrate their training into real-world practice. While our interns deliver professional and attentive care, they are still in training and are not yet Registered Massage Therapists.

Please note that because treatments are provided by student interns, services are not eligible for reimbursement through extended health care plans.

What to expect

Reassessment and home care

Assessment

The assessment is completed electronically and depending on the complexity of your conditions, may require additional time at the start of your appointment.

When you book consecutive appointments with the same therapist, the reassessment time is shorter.

Your therapist will leave the room to consult with their Clinic Instructor after your initial assessment.

All patients are required to complete the patient intake forms prior to your first appointment. Failure to complete the forms ahead of your scheduled appointment will result in reduced hands-on treatment time.

Clinic Etiquette and responsibilities as a patient

As a patient you play an essential role in your healthcare journey, and we recognise that achieving the best possible outcomes require a partnership between our healthcare providers and you as a patient.

Clothing
Your therapist will advise on what items of clothing to remove for your treatment. In our professional environment, please note that patients are required to keep their underwear on for the entirety of the treatment.

Patients are expected to speak to our students and staff in a polite and courteous manner and adhere to our clinic policies.

Provide complete and accurate information. To provide you with the best care possible, it is essential that you share all relevant information about your health and medical history.

Treatment Space

Massage Therapy treatments are provided in a private room.

Focused Inreach Clinics are held in a large room with tables in curtained off treatment spaces.

Important note: For legal reasons our Public Intern Clinic is prohibited from accepting patients who currently have an open ICBC or WCB claim, as well as anyone who has any type of litigation pending due to a personal injury.

Our Governing Body requires all students perform an assessment and homecare during each massage treatment.
