Our massage therapy program builds a strong understanding of the human body through 2200 hours competency based instruction in various courses such as anatomy, neurology, kinesiology and nutrition; including over 300 hours of practical clinical training.
Our graduates are fully prepared for registration and have attained the knowledge, skill and ability necessary to be successful in medical and healthcare facilities, sports and wellness centres, spas, resorts, clinics and self-employment.
We put learning into practice through over 1000 hours of practical training and 300 hours of clinical experience in our student intern clinic and community clinics.
Our small class sizes allow for personal attention and easy access to educational resources. We have RMTs, chiropractors, and a Naturopathic Doctor on staff each working here part time and in their own clinics.
CCMH hand picks our faculty with experienced massage therapists and other health professionals, who willingly pass on their dedication and expertise to our students.
The best test of our program is the success our students have in completing provincial board exams. CCMH students have been continuously awarded top marks at the Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) registration exams.
CCMH, along with our sister school, West Coast College of Massage Therapy, is the only school of its kind having a National footprint, with campuses in Ontario, Nova Scotia, and British Columbia.
Our diploma is recognized by the Massage Therapists’ Association of Nova Scotia (MTANS) and the Massage Therapists and Wholistic Practitioners’ Association of the Maritimes (MTWPAM) and other provincial associations across Canada. Our College is registered with the Nova Scotia Department of Education’s Private Career Colleges Division. As of April 1, 2009 graduates who have passed regulated exams from legislated provinces are now able to work coast to coast, including BC, without upgrading. For more information please refer to the AIT.
CCMH’s Jobs Board and job fairs, assist our students and graduates in contacting potential employers and lists available practice locations. For those interested in working at spas. We have global relationships with well known resorts.
